The Upper
Valley Community Tennis Association (UVCTA) is a grassroots
non-profit organization with the sole purpose of promoting
the game of tennis in our area for both adult and junior
players, of all levels.
The UVCTA was founded in 1999. It is made up of individuals
from all over the Upper Valley with one common goal - to
grow the game of tennis and make it more accessible to all
those interested in playing.
We are a registered CTA with the USTA, but players are not
required to have any USTA memberships or NTRP ratings to
participate in the league. It is open to anyone wishing to
play.
Matches are played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and
team practice is usually one evening during the week
(time/date set by each team). Each team will play 8-10
matches during the season, half at home and half away. For
adult matches, the minimum age is 21.
In 2009 we had 285 players on 26 teams. There were 8
Women’s "A" teams (3.5 - 4.5 USTA rating), 8
Women’s "B" teams (3.0 - 3.5) and 5 Mens "A" teams
(3.5 - up) and 5 Mens "B" teams (3.0 - 3.5) The USTA
provides guidelines for rating yourself
if you don't
already know your rating.
The Fee for participation is $30/player (non-refundable).
Balls and Awards are provided by the UVCTA.
